Which Wolf Will You Feed?

I remember long ago when I started my spiritual journey I was told about the old tale of a Cherokee man teaching his grandchild a lesson in life. He basically told his grandson that there was a fight going on within all of us between two wolves. One wolf was evil and represented anger, sorrow, defeat, pity, resentment, guilt, lies, superiority and ego. The other wolf was good and represented love, joy, peace, serenity, hope, humility, kindness and faith. When the grandson asks his grandfather which wolf will win, the grandfather replies with "the one you feed." So I ask you, which one will you feed? The one you choose to continue to feed will grow stronger and bigger. The one you feed will take control of your life. That's what we need to be reminded of through our daily experiences and whatever adversity we are being faced with now and in the future. Can we look at every experience and see the good in it? Or will we choose to see all the ways it can and will destroy us. I was recently reading a profound book titled "The Millionaire Joshua." This book resonated with me deeply as it had so much of the messages I have received through Abraham Hicks' work and the workings of another brilliant author, Florence Scovel Schinn. It was about the words you choose to speak and the power of them that create your feelings within and ultimately creating your reality. This book continued to give examples of people that looked into their "problems" and changed their perception by their faith in God or Universal Intelligence. Once they changed their perception, the outcome turned in their favor. It led to financial abundance, peace, love and more. They believed there had to be some sort of good that had to come from being hospitalized, or getting into an accident, or whatever was a "setback." They also decided to feed the good wolf. There are many times in life we are thrown out of our comfort zones and tested to the grandest degree. These are the moments our truth or current state of mind is revealed, positively or negatively. So in these grand moments, the wolf we have been feeding most, comes out. This is all represented through our emotions, words and thoughts. There are also no rules to what happens through this process. I mean, if you have been feeding the wrong wolf, the way out is so simple. It's to acknowledge it and most importantly be aware of it so you can make that mindset switch!

So many teachers, gurus, books, and programs teach us to use a mantra. When I worked with my guru years ago, our group also had a mantra that we repeated. Mantras are special and created to help you along your path whether it's for a few days, months, or years. The beauty of mantras is that you need to first and foremost BELIEVE in the representation of it for yourself. I have mentioned one the greatest shows in my blogs before, "Ted Lasso." In the second season, they have a team psychologist come in to help further boost the team morale. One of the players learned his mantra and it went like, "I'm a strong and capable man." Anytime his confidence or he himself was challenged he repeated his mantra and believed in it. So remember that you need to build your mantra slowly to actually believe in it starting in the morning when you wake up. That is the most important time of the day to get yourself in a new "Victory Vibration" and set the tone for your day. The reason it is so important is because that moment when you wake up is before the kids, work, errands, and seeing anyone else throughout the day. So if "I am a capable and strong (fill in the blank)" doesn't resonate with you yet, start with something even more simple. Something like, "I CAN DO IT" or "I am brave" or "I am smart." See how simple it can be? No one else even has to hear you say it but if you choose to say it outloud, be proud and LOUD! When you start to see the difference in your mood and vibration, you will naturally be guided to pick a stronger and funner mantra. You will then see that you are starting to feed the "good" wolf and also start seeing your life upleveled. Also, remember that these processes take a moment to start shaping in place in your life so be patient. Farmers don't plant their seeds of corn and go out everyday of that week checking for the new stalks. They know and have FAITH that it will come to be. So I in turn ask you to BELIEVE in the process, have FAITH, be AWARE and take it one day at a time because that is all you need to do. Life has twists, turns and tests (TTT) when you start to make these beautiful changes. Pay attention to those TTT's and know that you've got this! The Universe is always and FOREVER on your side!
