May The Odds Forever Be In Your Favor

I remember watching the series of movies "The Hunger Games" and always hearing the character that was the administrator say that phrase before the children went on their scary journey into the unknown. It's a funny thing because every child that goes into this so called game is equipped with gifts and sometimes their main gift that will help them. The journey into this game is unknown because these children never know when they could be in danger or be sent a lifeline. They continue to try their best to be brave and have faith in their instincts and intuition. The movie is a lot more complicated than this part, but it is where the administrator says, "may the odds forever be in your favor" that gives these children a sense of hope and faith regardless of their fate. The game of our lives is very similar to this sense of hope and faith. We are living through our day to day lives not knowing what is being delivered to us. Some of us are living a life that seems to run on autopilot. We may be working at a job that makes us feel miserable. We are complying to others' needs and forgoing what is in our best interests. We are allowing ourselves to be soaked in the world of social media and the news. We seem to be lost but have no energy to make a change because that would take us out of our comfort zone. We know that we want more in life than working 40-50 plus hours a week just to come home complacent, then get up and do all over again. We all have passions and desires. If you're reading this and thinking you don't have any, think again. Your passions and desires are hidden somewhere deep down inside. If you don't know what your gifts or passions are, the Universe does. Your angels and guidance team know and they don't forget. The key to making a change for yourself and being able to play in this beautiful game of life is to be brave enough to want something better and fulfilling. This starts with an intent. If you proclaim to the Universe that you are ready for a change and something better in your life, be on the lookout. Start with making one simple change in your life, even if that means taking a new route to and from work. Maybe you've wanted to start a new workout, or take that class you've been putting off. Maybe you just need to go golfing, fishing, or meditate so that you can quiet your mind. That's when the magic happens. The constant thoughts come through like a tidal wave. Let these thoughts flow through you and allow them to dissipate. My first meditation guru always told us these thoughts were like a chattering monkey. The constant worrying thoughts will come through and try to throw you off balance. Don't let them. Think of them as the darkness before the dawn. Thank them for showing up and then let them pass. I know this seems easier said than done, but trust me in no time these thoughts will slow down and lessen. The key is it takes time. Just like when you decide to lose weight and begin to go to the gym and eat healthier. You will not see the change after a day. It takes time. Be patient and most importantly be kinder to yourself. Watch your words for they are powerful. Pay attention to how you speak to yourself and how you see yourself. If you are unkind to yourself, then you know a change is needed.

We live in a fast paced, changing environment. There is so much information coming at us at lightspeed. So much speed that we feel there is no time to take a mental break. A main reason why so many people don't take a mental break or sit with their thoughts is because they are afraid of what they'll hear. Why? Why are we afraid to face our fears? Why are we so afraid to make changes that are for our highest and greatest good? It is through our upbringing and the world around us that we lost our footing. Remember when you were a kid and there wasn't a person in the world that could stop you from doing anything? We had no fear. That fear was thrown into our minds as we got older. We took on these fears from our parents, caregivers, friends, teachers, family and the media. We have to understand that when we came onto this Earth, we came for a reason. We came to learn, grow and make an impact and expand our consciousness. We came to enjoy our lives. If that sounds far fetched than you're not really living. We came to find all the joys in life and most importantly love. Love, joy, and appreciation are the highest and most powerful vibrations that are emitted. If you try to get yourself to that frequency, you will prevail. You will prevail through anything life tries to throw at you like in the Hunger Games but on a different scale of course. You will continue to discover and use your God given gifts (yes, we ALL have them), and live fearlessly. You will tap into the divine consciousness and see the signs and synchronicities that line up for you. You will start to have fun and see that we are all here together making changes for the better in the best ways we can. Doing the best we can one day at a time. So, take a chance on yourself and your life. To touch on Neil Armstrong's famous quote, taking that small step for yourself that leads to a giant leap for mankind and of course, as always, may the odds forever be in your favor.
