It's "Not" A Lonely Way To The Top

I remember hearing the statement a long time ago that went something like, "It's a lonely way to the top." I also remember seeing and hearing, "It's lonely at the top." I'm not sure who first came up with this statement and not only that, but what that person or people were going through. I have been re-evaluating so many of these "negative" statements that I've heard throughout my lifetime. If anyone were young and wanting to build his or her way to the top, this statement would most certainly, possibly plant a seed of fear. Now if this were someone like Kanye West and you've seen his 3 part documentary on Netflix, then you would know NOTHING would deter that man from getting to the top. He believed in himself from day 1. I know this happens to be rare these days, especially in my days growing up. It was like everyone had that fear of getting to the top because they might end up alone or even failing. I believe that the time has come for a great awakening and change. It's not so "random" that Kanye's documentary was filmed for 20 years and released during this time while there is so much going on in our world right now. He continues to tell the viewers and all the people that he is a genius and an artist and will make it to the top. I was very inspired by this because it truly gave me a boost of confidence in myself. I'm also putting aside anything Kanye has done publicly or politically that has raised some concern for some people. I am just complimenting him on his drive and confidence.

I believe that it really can be a lonely way to the top and maybe even at the top for those that have not done the real inner work. To be honest, the inner work journey can be lonely on many occasions. The inner work journey requires you to be "alone", although you are never really alone. The inner work journey allows you to truly and fully commit to yourself. It requires you to go deep within and work on the fears and doubts that you carry within. It allows you to evaluate the relationship you have with yourself, your family, loved ones and even your partner. It allows you to spend time in solitude and even find outlets or "tools" to help you further in your journey. These outlets and tools could be meditation, reiki, sound bath healings, walks in nature, creating art, and even books or mentors to help guide you. Either way, you begin to shine light on all the "darkness" you have been carrying. Things that have gone hidden below the surface and need to be highlighted to clear. Sometimes this clearing requires you to relocate, change jobs and even part from certain friends and family. This is where the lonely part or feeling alone may come in. Yes, it's scary to think that you will relocate to a place that is outside of your comfort zone. That's the whole point! It's to allow yourself to allow change. We seem to be programmed to fear change. I know I did my whole life until I woke up to this inner work journey. As I started with one big, uncomfortable change, it was easier to make certain other smaller and big changes. Moving cities, leaving jobs I didn't resonate with any longer, and the hardest was releasing friends that no longer matched my energy. That was the hardest part because my original fear was that I was going to be alone without any friends. That FEAR is false. How do I know? I love to say how the Universe always has your back right? Well it does. I had to release a dear friend of mine of over 25 years last year and let me say it was definitely one of the hardest things I had to do in my life. I will tell you that 4 months later, a beautiful, loving new dear friend appeared. She happened to start "suddenly" at the boxing gym I was going to regularly. It took one comment about me liking her Lululemon leggings and the rest is history. I know that she is part of my soul family and appeared in perfect timing. This is not random and it is not luck. Please try to remove both of these words from your belief system and replace them with "meant to be" or "destined." Your world will start to show you more of what is destined for you if you do. Trust me. As I continued to release other people in my life, more people started showing up. I mentioned that I have moved to different cities to live in the last 10-15 years of my life. When I look back, the Universe never let me down! The perfect gym showed up for me. New friends in the city appeared just by going to new coffee shops or trying new workouts. I was never truly alone OR lonely. This all leads to why I must tell you that it really isn't lonely on the way to the top or at the top because you find your true soul family all the way. I believe that the people who tell you it's lonely, never did the inner work. Because if they did, they would know that the Universe has their backs. Getting to the top usually means getting what you asked for in life like money, that dream job, owning your own business, becoming a successful artist, or speaker, marrying the love of your life, or whatever you want. I believe that once you truly make it through the inner work journey, your journey to and at the top will be filled by all those true souls that were with you along the way. The ones that leave you feeling "lonely" will have fallen away. The true souls that remain with you will see you and support you. Remember to have faith in yourself and in this journey first. The rest will follow. That faith must be so strong that it transcends you. Let that faith in yourself and in this Universe allow you to rise to whatever your top is. As long as you crawl, walk or run, you are still moving, to summarize Martin Luther King’s prolific quote. Those souls that believe in you will also start to follow. I have always allowed myself to follow those leaders that had a dream or a vision and followed it through no matter the detours. One of the greatest leaders, Alexander the Great, once said, “I am not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.” So be a lion and let that inner voice roar loud. Let love, strength and compassion be your greatest allies. Believe in yourself and in the good of humanity and see how your journey to and at the top will never be so lonely. It just starts with YOU.
